Wildly popular street basketball team AND1 to play in Saudi as part of their global tour sponsored by Ford and ACTIONHA

• ALBAIK’s Nazeeh & Wartan Park to host first fun street basketball game by AND1 as part of its Jeddah Summer Festival activities

Street basketball is becoming a favored sport across the Kingdom and ACTIONHA Jeddah has promised the lovers of this growing game a wildly fun summer street basketball display featuring AND1.  On Saturday July 16, 2011 the AND1 team kicked off their Saudi tour playing a display game at the Nazeeh & Wartan Park in Al Khaldeyah district with the event open to the public to witness the game and interact with the players, as a preliminary for their evening match at the stadium.

The AND1 Streetball Tour kicked off in May with visits across a number of countries, including Saudi Arabia with a three day stopover in Jeddah.  The AND1 team is scheduled to play against local Saudi basketball teams in a three day set tournament.  The teams first stop however was the display game at the Nazeeh & Wartan Park hosted in cooperation with ALBAIK Food Systems and organized by Jeddah United.

The AND1 display game at the Nazeeh & Wartan Park in Al Khaldeyah District included photography session with the players, raffle draw of signed t-shirts and tips and skills presentation to the public by the team.  

The AND1 Tour activities has also been supported by a number of entities including ADROIT handling the website and online updates, Tashkeil’s Sukoon Social Division and Eye On Jeddah Volunteer Group who are handling the logistics and environmental awareness programs being conducted.  AND1 team will be playing evening matches from July 16th till the 18th with further information about the matches can be found on the new Jeddah United Events Website: http://www.jeddahunitedevents.com or directly on the Actionha site: http://www.actionha.net/.
